These two forces are often perceived as opposites. Yet, according to the logic of the Tanya, they are naturally complementary.
When an artist solely possesses the emotional dimension, the momentum is there, but without structure, creativity may fail to materialize. Conversely, a man who develops only the intellect can build efficient systems, but without the warmth of the heart, his actions lack life and creativity.
The Benoni model: Dynamic equilibrium
The Tanya proposes the Benoni model for the majority of men: he is neither a mediocre nor average man, but rather one who possesses opposing forces and knows how to organize them. He does not suppress his impulses; he learns to direct them.
The Benoni lives by the principle of dynamic equilibrium. His heart feels deeply, but his mind knows how to channel these emotions into constructive action.
Perfection does not lie in the absence of tension. It lies in the ability to maintain a living balance between inspiration and action.
